Shachi Kaushik is a storyteller at heart, bringing ideas to life across books, sound, and screen. Her journey began at the Round Rock Public Library, where she volunteered to lead Hindi-English storytime sessions. The program soon became a favorite, bringing smiles to children and appreciation from parents. That joy has remained a driving force in Shachi’s work ever since. Eager to reach broader audiences beyond the library walls, Shachi studied Children’s Media at Centennial College in Toronto, where she deepened her knowledge of how stories engage, inform, and support young audiences. Her travel experiences have expanded her creative lens, deepening her understanding of different cultures and the art of storytelling, and inspiring her to approach each project with a fresh perspective. She contributes a monthly column, The Picture Book World, to the Austin South Asian journal, where she curates a selection of 3–4 picture books around seasonal themes. Her goal is to help parents discover new and engaging titles that spark conversations with their little ones and nurture a love of reading at home. With a multimedia background, Shachi has contributed to animated shows like CoComelon and Guava Juice Show, co-produced the audio documentary Living Without Borders, and hosted the radio show Austin On Da Go. She is also the creator of Happy Hindi Learners, a YouTube channel that helps families explore the Hindi language through playful learning. Through every project, Shachi continues her mission to craft stories that resonate, celebrate culture, and inspire audiences of all ages.
